VISUAL CONCEPTS

I believe my stronger points as a designer are with color theory, logo creations and conceptualization. When it comes to Media Design, these are the areas I feel strongest with. I love color and adding color to a piece to tell a story or narrative. It really brings what you are trying to convey to an audience to life. I try to infuse pops of color or strong color combinations in all of my work. It is noted in Designing Brand Identity, that “color is used to evoke emotion and express personality. It stimulates brand association and accelerates differentiation.” This can be true for brands that are familiar to the general public and for artists and designers who make the use of color specific to their work.

Logo creation for me as a designer is a lot of fun because you really get to explore the brand and make it stand out with one image. This can be tricky because you want to not overcomplicate the process or the end result, so I know as a designer simplicity is key for me with logo design. I always keep in mind that “the logo is the gateway to a brand,” so the level of consistency, staying true to the mission and incorporating all elements of an organization into this one small design is imperative. Conceptualization is another area I feel I excel in as designer. I am an idea and results driven type of designer, so whatever I envision in my head for a project or client, I always make sure it comes to life for the intended audience. New ideas and concepts are vital in the industry, so I think that makes me stand out from the competition that is in the workforce. My ideas for designs are fun, exuberant, at times outlandish but nonetheless, cohesive. I believe this is an excellent quality to have as a designer because a big aspect of this job is creativity.
